Resident Evil – an upcoming German-American survival horror cinema well-written by Greg Russo and Roberts and directed by Johannes Roberts. The storyline is being held under wraps. A reboot of the ‘Resident Evil’ movies based on the famous fright video game series by the same name.

Agreeing as a reboot of the Resident Evil movie series, which is based on the video game category of the same name, the film casts Robbie Amell, Kaya Scodelario, Avan Jogia, Hannah John-Kamen, Neal McDonough, Tom Hopper, and Donal Logue. According to Roberts, it will be an outbreak story, set in 1998, and is based on parts from the initial and next games.

The progress took place in early 2017, after Resident Evil: The Final Chapter was issued, with producer James Wan showing interest in the project. Later, Martin Moszkowicz stated that a reboot of the movie series was in development. In the same month, it was declared that James would produce the reboot with lines by Greg Russo. In Dec 2018, Roberts was hired as director and writer and James left the project. Roberts stated that the reboot would be “super, super scary” and more committed to the games. Shooting commenced on the 17th of Oct, 2020, in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

Resident Evil is scheduled to be theatrically aired by Sony Pictures Releasing in 2021.

Who is featuring in Resident Evil?

In early 2020, the casting was begun but was paused by the COVID-19 outbreak. In a Feb 2020 interview with Starburst Magazine, Roberts affirmed that casting details were set to be declared in March. In April 2020, Full Circle Cinema proclaimed that the studio was eyeing Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites, and Harris Dickinson for the characters of the Redfield siblings Claire, Chris, and Leon S. Kennedy.

On the 6th of Oct, 2020, Deadline Hollywood reported that Hannah John-Kamen and Scodelario had been cast as Jill Valentine & Claire, alongside Robbie Amell, Avan Jogia, and Neal McDonough as Albert Wesker, Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, and William Birkin. The reboot was portrayed as serving as an origin story set in the ’90s. That Nov, Lily Gao as Ada Wong, and Donal Logue were cast as Chief Brian Irons, alongside Chad Rook as Richard Aiken.
