YouTube is a surprisingly decent source for free movies. And no, I’m not talking about films illegally uploaded to YouTube. I’m talking about legitimately free movies on YouTube that you can watch now.

Now, Warner Bros. Discovery is adding to the list of free movies on YouTube. On Friday, Warner Bros. Discovery published a YouTube playlist of 31 free movies from its catalog that you can stream (h/t Gizmoposts24). As of this writing, that number has already grown to 39 free Warner Bros. movies, including a few hidden gems.

Granted, this isn’t on par with the deep libraries of the best free streaming services available. But there are some must-watch movies on this list and at least a dozen others worth your time.

Top Picks for Free Warner Bros. Movies on YouTube

Here are our top picks for the free Warner Bros. movies you can watch on YouTube right now and the full list of 39 free movies.

Waiting for Guffman (1996)

Fans of “Best in Show” and “This is Spinal Tap” will definitely want to watch “Waiting for Guffman.” While not as famous as those two movies, this is another mockumentary comedy with writer/director Christopher Guest at his best.

“Waiting for Guffman” stars Guest as a quirky community theater director in small-town Blaine, Missouri. He’s putting on a musical about the town’s history titled “Red, White and Blaine” and has used his “off-off-off-off-Broadway” connections to invite Broadway producer Mort Guffman to review the play.

Michael Collins (1996)

If you want something other than 1080p that’s as big as 40″, you’re looking at thousands of dollars, most likely. Are you interested in spending that kind of money?

We have a 65″ 1080p smart TV which we have hooked up to our HTPC. We sit about 8′ away from it, and while 1080p video content looks astonishingly high-detail, things like fonts and web pages are a struggle to read without zooming quite a bit with Ctrl + Sitting 3-5′ from a 40″ screen sounds somewhat cramped unless it’s actually a computer screen.

Begin Again: A Charming Movie to Welcome the New Year

I’ll be the first to admit that most years, you’ll find me enjoying a few drinks and ringing in the New Year with friends. But some years, I’d much rather stay in, snuggle up under a blanket and watch a heartwarming movie to welcome the new year.

And this time around? That’s exactly what I’ll be doing when the clock strikes midnight. “Begin Again” is my movie choice for welcoming 2025.

I only recently discovered this drama, and while it isn’t set on New Year’s Eve and doesn’t revolve around celebrations, its themes really resonate this time of year — in particular, the ideas of embracing change and becoming a better version of yourself.

The Power of Music in “Begin Again”

The music complements the tone of each scene perfectly. Whether it’s Greta pouring her heart out through a heartbreak ballad for her ex, or the upbeat tune Greta and Dan create together on a bright, hopeful morning.

Director John Carney (“Once”) has a sharp sense of how to use music to enhance the narrative, and the result is a delightful indie with great performances and clever storytelling.

The “Begin Again” soundtrack also features contributions from Adam Levine, CeeLo Green and Hailee Steinfeld.
