The public has been speculating the release of Splatoon 3 for a long time now. Splatoon 2 came out in 2017. It was a massive success and sold 9.81 million copies across the world. Fans have been waiting for the past three years and have higher expectations from the new one.
Splatoon 2 revolved around the Octo expansion and the relationship between Marie and Callie – how the sisters united after being rivals. It has a multiplayer interface and a variety of weapons to choose from. It introduced an engaging and fun story mode. It soon gained a huge fanbase as more and more people played it.
Nintendo, the owner, has not shared any official news yet, but gamers are waiting with eagerness for the third installment. Towards the end of 2019, Nintendo shared artworks of the Splatoon characters.
Obviously, this resulted in fan theories about the plot and the release date. 2020 seems to be the speculated year for the release. However, there is no official report from the game developers.
The cast details are in the dark. Nintendo has not shared the plotline either, nor hinted to such. Despite that, just like Splatoon 2, we know that this one will also introduce the story mode. Splatoon 3 will have a variety of multiplayer components as well, like the second installment.
The characters from the second installment – Marie, Callie, Pearl, and Marina, will return for this one. However, there are a few doubts about Marina’s return to the game. Of course, nothing is confirmed.
As we await the summer of this year, we also expect the game’s release. We can only wait with patience, like how gamers do. In the midst of theories, guesses, and teasers, we hope Nintendo drops the fantastic Splatoon 3.
