Sex Education has taken Netflix by storm due to its bold concept and intimate scenarios. The show revolves around Otis Milburn and Maeve’s relationship tussle and how they set up an undercover sex therapy service and help their classmates out. The two have their issue while solving other’s problems and the show unfolds different aspects of sexuality. The show was very well received because it displayed multiple types of sexualities and is driven by a broad sense of acceptance amongst its viewers.
But after the second season came to an end, the situation between Maeve and Otis got even more complicated. And on top of that, the world got struck by COVID – 19 which created a worrisome situation for the fans of the show. How has the pandemic impacted the future of the show? Let’s find out.
Will There Be A Season 3?
For all the fans who are worried out there for no reason at all, yes, the show will return for a third season. As we all know the current global situation is a risky one and doesn’t allow social contact. The show was scheduled to start filming in April of 2020 but it failed to do so due to COVID-19. The producers of the show have confirmed that the filming will continue in August. But does that push the release date of the show from early 2021? That remains unknown.
Will Asa Butterfield Return For A Third Season?
If he wasn’t the producers of the show would not be forgiven. Of course, the lead is returning to the show along with Emma Mackey (Maeve). The duo will pick up the now very intense storyline and maybe we’ll see the two having a normal relationship for once. The show first featured on Netflix in 2019. It was showered with a lot of love by the fans mainly because of the weird and awkward Otis (Asa Butterfield) and street smart Maeve(Emma Mackey).
