Nicola Coughlan who plays Clare in the show also feels bad. She said they were to be shooting right now. But, at least the news of Derry Girls Season 3 gives us something to cling onto.

The cast of Derry Girls Season 3

What would be the next season without the original Derry Girls? Hard to imagine, right. So the star cast of previous seasons will be coming back in Derry Girls Season 3:

The plot of Derry Girls Season 3

In the previous two seasons, Derry Girls navigate through the ups and downs of teenage lives. It is set in LondonDerry, Northern Ireland during the period of conflicts between Catholics and protestants. Season 1 revolves around the 1990s Ireland troubles. While Season 2 focuses on the peace process. In the backdrop of conflicts, Derry Girls navigate love interests, parents, parties, and schools.

Season 2 finale depicted two very historic moments: Bill Clinton’s visit to Derry and IRA ceasefire. Both of these incidents ultimately shaped the history of Derry. We were left at a cliffhanger at the end. While the girls were all jolly at school, the mood of Erin’s house was tense. The television was flashing the news of the bombing. What will happen next? Well, it will be revealed in Derry Girls Season 3.

However, we have a little secret for you. Rumor has it, the next season will focus on another major event. Lisa said that it would be a shame to not cover the Good Friday Agreement. But Clinton’s speech took place in 1995. So the creators have a lot to fit in.

Derry Girls will be back soon to make our days brighter with a lot of fun. Till then you can binge-watch the previous two seasons on Netflix.
