John Krasinski’s ‘A Quiet Place’ was released in 2018. It spans the horror, sci-fi genres. The movie stars John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe as members of the Abbott family. The story trails in a post-apocalyptic world with extra-terrestrial creatures. These monsters have a highly heightened sense of hearing. Make a single noise, and you’re in for a rough ride.
The Abbott family encounters these monsters several times. Towards the end of the movie, we see that Lee (Krasinski) sacrifices his life to save his children. The surviving members of the family make an astonishing discovery. Regan (Simmonds’s) hearing aid makes a high-frequency noise whenever the creatures are around. This drives them away and even kills some. With this newfound knowledge of the creatures’ weakness, the family prepares to fight back.
