Psychonauts 2 is a sequel to the game Psychonauts (release in 2005)
Double Fine Productions and director Tim Schafer had attempted to create a sequel long ago. Due to the funding problems that couldn’t happen. Finally, in 2015 the creators announce that there will be a sequel to psychonauts realizing after all.
About Psychonauts 2-
Tim Schafer is the director of the video game, Double Fine Productions are the developers, Eric Robson is the designer and Majesco Entertainment is the Publisher.
The makers of the game confirmed the sequel way back, in 2015 during the Game Awards Ceremony. Initially, the makers were to release the game in 2018; but later, they delayed its release.
Psychonauts 2 will be available for the following gaming consoles- Macintosh System, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Linux.
The game revolves around the protagonist ‘Raz’ and his fight. The setting of the game is a ‘summer camp’ (Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp) which is actually a secret training facility of the US Government.
As seen in Psychonauts, Raz attains certain powers like telekinesis, invisibility, pyrokinesis etc. throughout the game to fight his enemies.
Psychonauts 2 will also have Raz fight the enemies with these additional powers. Psychonauts two will pick up immediately after the game Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruins.
The makers have been very secretive about letting out any information about the upcoming game. What we can interpret as of now is that the sequel will have better-styled graphics with a higher resolution. There will be the same if not better colorful and bright visuals and a lot of unconventional humor!
Trailer and Release date-
The makers initially intended for the game to release in 2018 but it got delayed for another year. In 2019, they postponed the release yet another time. The creators are now set to release it in the current year. However, no specific information has been provided by the makers. The pre-order for the game was only available on the official site by the developers- ‘Fig’.
