The Promised Neverland is an anime series based on the eponymous light novel series created by Kaiu Shirai.

The anime adaptation of the very famous Sci-fi and dark fantasy manga series premiered on January 11, 2019, and ended its run on March 29, 2019. The first season comprised of 12 episodes and it received positive reviews from critics.

The series has been penned down by Kaiu Shirai. It has been rendered by Posuka Demizu. It premiered for the first time in January 2019. The show was renewed for a second season as soon as the first season ended. Many critics hailed this anime series as one of the finest anime series of last year.

The show is set sometime in the year 2045. It spirals around the lives of a bunch of kids and mama Elizabeth, who reside in the Green Field orphanage. The antagonist of the show is an 11-year-old girl called Emma, who used to live a very happy life in the orphanage. A person called Ray informs Emma and Norman that the orphanage is not what it seems. It has a very shady past.

The children who are taken care of by Elizabeth are actually supposed to be offered as sacrifices outside the orphanage. The show then follows the adventures of Emma, Norman, and Ray as they plan to protect the kids of the orphanage.

The creators of the show have said that the second season will have a different narrative technique. It will tie all the loose ends of the first season.

The upcoming installment is expected to shed more light on the Demon Lord and its true intentions. It will also, at the same time, focus on Emma’s journey. The second season is expected to come out sometime this year.
